Red Hats extend invitation

The Red Hat “Red Snappers” welcome new members who enjoy “doing lunch” while getting to know new friends, meeting for lunch on the last Saturday of the month. Get a red hat and reserve your spot by calling Mary at 508-771-5148 after 5 p.m., or send an e-mail to edry1@verizon.net.

Let's try it again!

It's been quite a while since this blog was used. Let's try again to use it and update it with our activities. We have tried to gather on Friday nights instead of throughout the week. It seems to be working. In January we gathered at The Riverway in South Yarmouth. The food was excellent, the service couldn't have been better and the Cosmos were outstanding. We don't do well with the long rectangular tables because we can't hear everyone. (old age, perhaps)

Recently we traveled to Provincetown by way of a Truro cottage for drinks and hors d'oeurves. Some of our group journeyed to the Welfleet vineyards and procured wine for the happy hour. We had dinner followed by THE SHOW! You can tell from the picture that we had a SMASHING time!

This announces our arrival! On display at the Brewster Town Band concert in July. We had a great spot under a big tree (location courtesy of our QM), wonderful food, good music (thank you, John New, band director) and a Sunday afternoon to "beat the band."

Welcome Red Hatters!

The Smashing Cranberries is a small group of Red Hatters. We range in age from 40+ (our Princess) to almost 85 (our Matriarch) and are currently not taking any new members. In the true fashion of Red Hat Society, we have no rules. Our primary function in Red Hatting is that we gather to eat, drink and be social. We don't raise funds, we don't invite our husbands, we laugh, get caught up on our life happenings and generally have a great time! Our signature drink is the Cosmopolitan. (The Naked Oyster is currently the #1 spot for those.)
